In his clinical work, Dr. Lauritsen draws upon a variety of respected
therapies to fit the client's need and personality. These approaches may
include cognitive-behavioral methods, structured family therapy,
psycho-educational coaching, Thought Field Therapy or other approaches.
In discussing his clinical philosophy, Dr. Lauritsen frequently compares
life to a garden and therapy as a way to enhance and beautify it: while
every garden has its share of weeds that need to be removed, the goal of
gardening is more than removing weeds. The goal is to wisely cultivate
the vegetables and flowers, helping them to flourish, in spite of the
weeds if need be. For upon the vegetables depends one's life; and upon
the flowers depends one's soul.
So it is with human life: sooner or later every person faces a painful
and sometimes overwhelming challenge, whether in the form of a loss, a
habit, an emotion, or a relationship. Whatever the case, meeting the
therapeutic challenge means also focusing on the strengths the
individual brings to the situation.
